DeFi UX Audit

A structured UX audit for DeFi protocols, scored against the cognitive-bias and risk-disclosure rubric used in L-LINE DIGITAL's EthCC and ETH Prague talks.

What it is

A scored, written UX audit of your live DeFi product — measured against the same cognitive-bias and risk-disclosure rubric L-LINE DIGITAL has presented at EthCC, ETH Prague, and ETH Milan.

How it works

Book a 30-minute intro call, then spend a week having your product reviewed screen by screen against the published rubric, and finish with a written report plus a live walk-through of the findings.

Why it's worth it

You leave with a reproducible score and a prioritised fix list — not just an opinion — and the first five protocols get it for free in exchange for a public case study.

How it works

From intro call to written report in one week.

1

Intro call

30 minutes on Calendly. We confirm fit, scope the audit to your protocol's surface area, and agree on what's in and out of scope.

2

One week of structured review

We work through your live product against the published rubric — UI screens, transaction flows, error states, documentation, mobile, novice vs. expert pathways.

3

Written report and walk-through

You receive a scored report with prioritised remediations, plus a 60-minute live walk-through with your team to answer questions and unblock engineering.

What's included

Everything is in writing.

You leave the engagement with a scored report you can share internally, with investors, or — for the first five protocols — publish openly as a case study.

  • A scored audit report covering cognitive-bias resistance, risk disclosure, transaction UX, error states, novice/expert split, and mobile UX.

  • A prioritised remediation list — what to fix first, why, and what evidence supports it.

  • A 60-minute walk-through call with your team to discuss findings and answer engineering questions.

  • All deliverables in writing — yours to keep, share with investors, or publish as a public scorecard.

Frequently asked

About the audit.

What's actually in the rubric?
The rubric is derived from L-LINE DIGITAL's talks at EthCC 6, ETH Prague, and ETH Milan on cognitive biases and heuristics in DeFi. It covers eight scored areas: cognitive-bias resistance, risk disclosure clarity, transaction confirmation UX, fee and slippage transparency, error and failure states, onboarding and first-tx conversion, novice vs. expert pathway split, and mobile UX. Each area is scored against published criteria so the result is reproducible — not just an opinion.
Who is this for?
DeFi protocols, Web3 trading platforms, on-chain product teams, and Web3 consumer apps. It works best for products that are live (on testnet or mainnet) or in late-stage prototype — early-stage concepts get more value from a design engagement than a scored audit.
What's the 'free for the first 5' offer?
The first five protocols to commit get the full audit at no cost in exchange for permission to publish the scorecard and findings as a case study (with sensitive details redacted at your discretion). After the first five, the audit is paid. Public case studies are how the rubric earns trust as the canonical way to score DeFi UX — your participation directly shapes the methodology.
What does a paid audit cost after the first five?
Pricing depends on protocol surface area and complexity. Book an intro call to discuss — we'll quote in writing after the call.
Can we keep the report private?
Yes. The report itself is always yours and always private by default. Only the public-case-study portion of the free offer requires permission to publish, and you control what's redacted.
How is this different from a security audit?
Security audits look at smart contracts and economic design. A UX audit looks at the layer where your users actually live — the interface, the transaction signing flow, the disclosures, the error messages. They're complementary; we frequently work with protocols who've already passed a smart-contract audit.
